About Me

Hi! I’m Andy Coco, a musician, producer, sound engineer, voice talent, radio program host and DJ, working daily in music and audio production and performance – and totally loving it!

Catch me on the air every Friday 9-10pm CST on Classic 107.3 fm doing my show “Soul Jazz Serenade.” I presently have the great pleasure of singing and playing bass guitar in a bunch of great St. Louis based bands. You can catch me performing solo and in duo combinations as Andy Coco & Co, with my dance band, Andy Coco’s NOLA Funk and Rhythm & Blues Revue, and the soul-jazz combo Dogtown Records Allstars.  Or with recording projects The Service, and Hip Grease, and I regularly throw label showcase events Dogtown Records Presents…” at clubs in the St. Louis area.

Some more detail and booking information about these here:  http://dogtownrecords.co/now-booking-andy-coco-co-in-2025/

You can also see me playing bass ands singing with Sean Canan’s VooDoo Players, the 11 member Rolling Stones tribute Street Fighting Band, with Big Mike Aguirre’s Blu City All Stars, the Chris Shepherd Band, and sometimes with the Cree Rider Family Band, with whom I have recorded and released several records.

In the late 90’s, I co-founded a New Orleans songs & styles review band called Gumbohead, then built new soul jazz performance combos called Hip Grease and the Dogtown Allstars in the early 2000s. The Rhythm Section Road Show was a performing combo built in 2010 as an offshoot of my weekly radio show on KDHX, “The Rhythm Section,” on which I spun soul jazz and R&B each Friday from 12-2pm CST on 88.1fm and kdhx.org. (that started in January 2002, and ran until August 26, 2023)

In late 2014 I founded Dogtown Records, a production company and private studio based in the Dogtown neighborhood of St. Louis, MO, specializing in musician services, booking, event production, live performance a/v recording, mixing, editing, & publishing. I love to work with musicians trying to capture a live sound, make a pro sounding demo, or working to capture lightning in a bottle.

I am proud to do my part to help elevate the status of contemporary popular music from the Mississippi River region as a true and unique art form, worthy of civic and national pride; a tradition that is growing and richening everyday.  St. Louis has a rich history in contribution to the development of modern music, from jazz, ragtime. and blues, to soul, funk and hip-hop, our town features an incredibly vibrant live music scene and musicians’ culture to this day. Let me show you. 🙂
